I've taken to cooking on the fire inside my woodstove as it takes so long to cook on top of it. The woodsmoke does incredible things to the taste of meat. I don't know why we ever gave up this simple method of cooking for expensive and complicated ovens.

Heard about you on the news a while back and decided to see what it was all about. Found your blog, which is often very amusing. I am impressed with what you're doing and have to say that I'm quite jealous as I would love to do something like this as I find myself losing interest in the modern world. I have been interested in wild camping/bushcraft/survival for some years now.

Good luck with this, I look forward to seeing some photos soon. I do have one question though; what will you do when your year is up? I wonder how you'll find the modern world again.

I think I'll find the modern world quite easily, I take the bus there most days.
